Rain Couldn’t Dampen the Spirit of the Fenelon Falls Horticultural Society Annual Plant Sale

The Fenelon Falls Horticultural Society’s Annual Plant Sale at the Maryboro Lodge, was once again a wonderful success, proving that even chilly temperatures and steady rain can’t keep gardeners away from the plants they love.
Despite the less-than-ideal weather, enthusiastic gardeners, plant lovers, and community supporters arrived throughout the day to browse an incredible selection of plants generously donated from local gardens. Their support not only helped make the event successful but also celebrated the spirit of sharing that makes our horticultural community so special.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to everyone who attended, purchased plants, and supported the Society’s efforts. Every plant sold has a story behind it—carefully nurtured in local gardens, thoughtfully divided, and generously donated to help the sale flourish.
This event would not have been possible without our dedicated volunteers. For weeks leading up to the sale, volunteers spent countless hours digging, dividing, potting, labeling, organizing, and preparing hundreds of plants. Their hard work, knowledge, and enthusiasm transformed donated garden treasures into beautiful offerings ready for new homes. Rain or shine, their commitment is the foundation of this annual event’s success.
We would also like to extend our sincere appreciation to our talented local vendors who braved the cold and wet conditions to showcase their handmade goods, artwork, and unique offerings. Their presence added colour, creativity, and variety to the day, creating a welcoming marketplace atmosphere for visitors to enjoy.
Special thanks as well to our wonderful musicians whose performances brought warmth and joy to an otherwise grey day. Their talent and dedication created a lively backdrop for shoppers and vendors alike, reminding us all that community events are about much more than the weather. The music added something truly special, helping create lasting memories for everyone who attended.
Events like the Annual Plant Sale highlight the strength of our community and the shared passion that connects gardeners, growers, artists, musicians, volunteers, and supporters. We are grateful to everyone who contributed their time, talents, plants, and enthusiasm.
